The link I provided begins by stating that it is a misconception to believe that driving is a right instead of a privilege. A driver's license cannot be taken away at will because that would violate our right to due process. As citizens we are entitled to certain rights that cannot be taken away. A driver's license is not and never has been a "right." It must be earned and then we must continue to be responsible drivers in order to keep the license. That is why it is a privilege instead of a right. My whole reason for the initial comment was my perception that too many posters on this subject seem to have an attitude that they have a right to drive their car any way they want to. Like the Mercedes driver who feels he has a right to drive 30mph over the speed limit and, therefore, is opposed to the black box.
