96 Grand cherokee dash board lights.

I have a problem with the dashboard lights on a 1996 grand cherokee petrol. They don't come on,the gear selector light is also out.
The bulbs are fine, the fuse is ok and the dimmer switch functions as it dims the mileage reader. All the warning lights come on with the ignition.
Can anyone help.
