Well, if the prices are the same, I recommend you buy LG Cinema 3D LW5300. First of all, LG Cinema 3D IS a full HD TV. Not only it has 3D feature, but it also enhances the 2D image quality. I don't know if Samsung UND6500 is a LCD TV or LED TV but LW5300 uses LED backlight to give brighter images. It gives you better 2D picture quality than regular HDTVs do. Also, all LG Cinema 3D series TVs have 2D to 3D conversion feature built into them. This means that you can watch any 2D content in 3D as well. I own a LW5600 (also a LG Cinema 3D) and I've watched American Idol in 3D and it looked amazing. Also, I see that of your options, LW5300 has bigger screen size compared to UN40D6500. When it comes to TVs, the bigger the better. At same price level, you might as well go with LW5300 because it gives you 1) better quality 2D pictures 2)3D 3)bigger screen size and 4)unlimited 3D content through the 2D to 3D conversion feature.
