If the OP wants to be able to handle 24p content, a 120Hz (or 240Hz) frame rate would be required on an LCD HDTV. Otherwise, there are plasmas with 72Hz & 96Hz that handle 24p film based content rather nicely. IME some of the annoying flicker is still noticeable on ones that do it @ 48Hz.
