HDMI 1.3, might as well, finding none 1.3 hdmi is getting harder & hard to find now days. It would also be better in the future, you will not have to worry when you upgrade or use that cable on another TV if it is 1.3 or not (they don't lable them).

Samsung make great LCD's tv's, you may want to look at getting one or two sizes up tv (37 or 40inch), 32" is on the small size for Blu-ray.

For sound, if the tv speakers don't do it for you, you can get some powered computer speakers (2.0, 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 set-up) & use the tv audio out port as a 'receiver', it would not replace a true/real receiver, but it would give you more better sound opptions.
