What isn't told to many is that MacroVision might be encoded onto the signal by the player. There is no widespread documentation on this since they consider it a piracy issue.

I found I had to bounce the VHS to another computer or another VCR to work around the issue.

"On some 2 Hour DVDs I would have 20+ interruptions."

Sorry, I use a PC and only can share what I think may apply. This issue sounds like a warranty issue. The first item is a problem with "the customer is our enemy."
