The last 4 indie

sets I've been on - starting most recently - used:

RED EPIC
RED ONE
(you can see these at red.com)
Panasonic AG-HVX200
Arri ALEXA (rented)

I don't think CNET covers these sorts of cameras.

Generally for camcorders, a lens filter diameter of 70mm or larger, a 3CCD or 3CMOS imaging chip array that is 1/3 inch or larger. The low-end weighs in with the Sony prosumer HDR-FX1000. Then the Canon XHA1... Then there's the Sony HVR Z5 and Z7; Canon XF and XH series and maybe a JVC GY-HM-something.

If you plan to record the audio into the camcorder (the folks I know use an external recording system... generally a combination of Fostex field recorder and Apple Macintosh + Mackie mixer based AVID/Digidesign ProTools kit), you'll want the camcorder to deal with mics that use XLR connectors.
