brightness after black viewfinder fix

Hi,

Same problem with brightness here. The "open battery cover while in picture mode" trick worked but now I can't take pictures in sunlight either. Does this happen to everyone with the "black viewfinder" problem? Tried opening and closing the battery cover a few more times to see it would fix the brightness issue but no luck so far. Any solutions out there? Thanks
