Thank you all the postings regarding Peoplepc. I've had Peoplepc for several years, but earlier this year, I've noticed that their customer service have changed and that they're not as consistent, helpful, friendly or nice on the phone. So I changed providers and have tried to cancel my account, unfortunately, since I'm from the West Coast their customer service hours according to their website are more East Coast friendly and that I will have to get up early in the morning to call and be put on hold or call during my lunch hour or be on hold. So bottom line is this, it's taken me over 2 months to cancel this account and then come to find out that since I canceled my account on the 23rd of the month, I'm still going to be billed for the following month, even though they canceled my account on the 23rd. According to the rep. since I missed the billing cut-off, I will be charged from the 22nd of the month until the 21st of the following month... After reading all the complaints, I've decided to call my bank and cancel the credit card to avoid Peoplepc from continuously charging me... Here's a list why future members or current members should be aware of Peoplepc:
1- Don't believe their customer service hours, they will call you after 8 pm EST, I'm from the Ca. and they tried calling me at 8:30 PST, but when I tried calling them back their answering service came on...
2- Unless you're very patient, please be aware that you will be put on hold longer than typical customer service, just imagine calling AT&T customer service and waiting for someone to finally answer the phone...
3- Their customer service use to be local US, but have recently changed to overseas and you can tell by how rude they are on the phone and you can tell that it's scripted
4- They won't send you a confirmation letter to confirm your cancellation, they will be however be very rude to you, and they won't give you an explanation as why they don't send out cancellation letters...
5- To avoid getting charge for the following month, cancel your account right before the billing date and not during, or else good luck with the stress with trying to get that money back..
6- Should #5 happen, call your credit card company or bank to cancel the existing account and replace it right there and then... Don't wait, because Peoplepc will continue to charge your account... REMEMBER, THEY DON'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING IN WRITING...
I was hoping that I wouldn't have to write this but, with today's economy and people loosing their job the last thing anybody need is to deal with this kind of customer service or lack of.
