IE8 Error Message

Keep getting the message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I have reported this error several times to Microsoft and can not find a solution. I have reset IE8. Have run the Microsoft FIX-IT's.
Running XP Home edition SP3 on a Dell Laptop.
Any help would be appreciated.
