Wipe my computer clean

Hi tobeach, I read this post and liked your answers and the way you handled the situation. I am a newbie to this sort of thing. I have had Kubuntu on a previous computer but it was sharing space with XP at the time. Kubuntu ran out of space, I believe if XP was not there it would have been O. K. So, I want to clean out my computer and install Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS Desktop Edition. If you have any interest in helping me, I have already made a copy of what is in my computer using both the Belarc Advisor and Everest at Home. I have them on my desktop and would be able to e mail them to you if you wish. I am a pretty confident ( what I call an advanced beginner ) Internet user and am fairly comfortable downloading things, but this is way further than anything I have done before.
