I watched a video of CIQ in which some kind of tracking of events or data traffic was shown, revealing the key logging and text message capture. But it isn't clear that this information is sent anywhere (I mean the key presses and the text message contents rather than summary information). And it isn't clear to me that Google taps that info. However, I didn't research it thoroughly, and I'm not a developer, so it is still possible that the raw data is buffered and/or filtered and (maybe selectively) sent off-device (maybe even to Google). The fact that the capture happens is mighty disturbing nevertheless.
