The only thing read is what needs to be read, noting more and nothing less. The registry is order in such a manner (partial hash with a linked list) that searches a very quick. It is not searched from end to end (linear search). Read a book by a compentent authority to verify my statement. I have never used a registry cleaner since Windows NT 4.0, I have not any performance issues!
