WordPress Tiny URL Plugin ZeroClipboard Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Release Date : 2013-03-12

Criticality level : Less critical
Impact: Cross Site Scripting
Where : From remote
Solution Status : Unpatched

Software: WordPress Tiny URL Plugin 1.x

Henri Salo has discovered a vulnerability in the Tiny URL plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed via the "id" parameter to wp-content/plugins/tiny-url/swf/ZeroClipboard10.swf is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.3.2. Other versions may also be affected.

No official solution is currently available.
