Description:
A security issue and a vulnerability have been reported in RuggedCom Rugged Operating System (ROS), which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions and cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) The security issue is caused due to ROS containing an undocumented hardcoded username where the password is generated based on the MAC address and can be exploited to gain administrative access.

The security issue is reported in versions 3.6.x and prior, 3.7.0 through 3.7.8, 3.8.0 through 3.8.4, 3.9.0 through 3.9.2, and 3.10.0.

2) The vulnerability is caused due to an error when parsing unicast traffic and can be exploited to cause a crash via a specially crafted packet.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 3.7.x prior to 3.7.9.

Solution:
Update to version 3.7.9, 3.8.5, 3.9.3, 3.10.1, or 3.11.0.
