It just doesnt smell right when you cannot access a software company forum to ferret out what others are saying---and how the company responds to legitimate questions. I'll pass on PC tools until there is a change---I have too much time invested in this installation of Windows 7 and the software programs---and as for messing with the register with any tool---it is not going to happen Umless I have the entire drive(s) cloned and separate.
I did find a nice little free program that developes a lot of data--
CPUID. Simply lists the motherboard/bios/ram installed/video cards/ drives/ raid setup/all hardware in the unit etc---all in one place and you can print out or save a text file.
