Trayvon wasn't out robbing people. He was on his way to his dad's fiance's house. He had no criminal record (unlike the kids in your linked story) and was not out looking to commit a crime that night (unlike the kids in your linked story). If Zimmerman had not gone after him, Trayvon would never have had any contact with him (unlike the kids in your linked story, who were actively looking for victims).

But of course you know all that.
