I never said he was elected to VP or President. I said he was an elected official who was next in line of succession. Can you not understand that? It means he was not appointed, but as an elected member of Congress also elected by Congress to Speaker of House, he was next in line according to Constitution. Therefore, while not elected as President, he was nevertheless an elected official in line for the Presidency.
