You will get billed for it at a very inflated rate. If you don't pay, it will go to collections and mess up your credit. It is the biggest reason for bankruptcy.

My oldest son paid for his visit and negotiated a lower amount. My youngest son is still carrying that debt and is struggling to pay it off. He knows he owes it and is trying to do the right thing.
