Thank you. I reinstalled the Office/Word - and I was using Outlook to read the email where the file is attached. After reinstalling Office, when opening the file in an email from outlook, LibreOffice opens it fine, Word still quits at the same location. Also, I used a USB stick to get the file from a system where Word is actually opening the whole file, but the file did not open completely in the problem machine. I can upgrade to Office 2010 and see what happens, I assume. But I am puzzled why this PC cannot read the file when other Office 2007 can. Thanks much.
