Do you have Norton installed?

If so, Norton uses ccproxy.exe for its firewall and access control.as described here;

I'm betting your IM software needs proper access to the internet so you will have to look through all of Norton's options to ensure they have them.

If you don't have any Norton's security software installed then I see that ccproxy is an internet connection via a proxy server. Some software may baulk at that. But you don't tell the full error message, so it is difficult to say.

Just asking though, why do you have two connections to the internet, wireless and wired? Only one will work for any session, so you don't see any speed improvements, and I have to wonder if both Norton and your IM software are getting confused about the connection. What happens if you turn one off?
