Heatsinks

Yeah the graphics card is quite old, but i can always grab my graphics card from my other computer and just use it on the one that keeps freezing. Im pretty sure the computer is quite custom im not exactly sure, but the computer itself runs fine and is fast, its just the freezing part that im having a huge problem with, about the heatsinks, im not very familiar with them im not even sure if i would be able to replace the heat sink compound, is there any possible way to just check to see if its working or not, i might check the fans aswell to see if their too dusty for the computer to run, and once again thanks for the reply!
