how to write movies to dvd

Hi,
I have already downloaded DVD FLICK ,can u please tell me if i can write the dvd as date dvd.
Because yesterday i tried adding a long list of clips at a moment ,but then i have seen the size has actually exceeded the limit.
so i dint dare to write it.
Sorry for troubling ,but can u please tell me how should i use DVD flick burn and write the files to (avi,flv,rm) to the dvd.
