HP Pavillion a1268c did not help!!!:(

I did everything in this thread and my pc still crashed...I have a HP Pavillion a1268c desktop pc with AMD Anthlon 64 X2 Dual core processor and I thought that all of the above would solve my problem with being able to install "Service Pack 3" I am running with Window XP Home Media Edition and I have all of the critical updates with the service pack 2...

I really need to have the Service Pack 3 installed to be able to install and run some software that I have got for a Sony Handycam..I keep getting the error message stating that I don't have the right service pack installed..and it requires the service pack 3...Please,Please,Please, can anyone help me I have tried what I feel like everything...even as far as just renaming the Intelppm,,(which did nothing).

Anyones help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance..
