I see Windows 7 32 and 64 bit drivers. THERE ARE NONE FOR W8. This is why you try the Windows 7 drivers.

I do encounter folk that won't do this. They'll demand Windows 8 drivers. Maybe that's a good thing since they tend to sell the old laptop for cheap?
