repair skills, you might be able to fix this yourself. You're usually dealing with two possible components. One is the screen itself and the other is is called an inverter. It's a high voltage supply for the CF tube if yours uses this rather than LEDs. The inverters are usually under 50 bucks and screens can be in the hundreds if bought new. You can look for on line parts suppliers that offer screens from laptops that were scrapped for other reasons. I've done this. It's a trick the first time and I don't recommend this for anyone who's not comfortable with taking apart small electronic devices.
