I had a similar problem with my Sony Model KDFE55A20 about 3 years ago when I called Sony I was told to handle the problem with my warranty company since I had purchased an extended 3yr plan. My Sony started with a yellowish tint in the center of the screen which got larger as the days passed. Until it started to turn off on its own. Sony did not volunteer any information that a recall was issued. Instead I was told by my warranty company that this repair will satisfy the cap amount I could claim on the extended warranty. From this point on all expenses will have to come out of my pocket. The component that was being replaced cost $1400 according to the Sony authorized service repair technician. The so called new part that was installed when watching a scene that is light in color I see pink spots in the center of the screen that have gradually spread from the point where they started. We have been watching the tv like this for the past 3 years.
I'm very disappointed to find out a recall should have been made.
This very poor customer relations on Sony Corp.
