There are two methods that I've tried on my two PC-Mac switches. One involves an ethernet cable, and the other is using a wi-fi network, if you have one.
The ethernet remedy is definitely faster. Here's a simple way: http://www.myfirstmac.com/index.php/mac/articles/connect-your-pc-to-your-mac-via-ethernet
I switched 460 GB worth of files from my Dell XPS to my Mac Mini like this.
If you have a home wi-fi network, you can just as easily use the built in mac software (iphoto, itunes, etc.) Just import files from your PC (this is also true for the ethernet approach)
Good Luck.
