I only tackled the second question and can chat about dropbox. I can't use Apple's cloud or do much with it for the past year.

My apple account was hijacked and while I do have the account back they won't reset my security questions until I put in a valid credit card and you bet I won't put in the credit card until the last items are reset.

So my thoughts about Apple's cloud is "not that good" if they can't fix an issue without risking my credit card along the way.

I'm sure this is discussed elsewhere but all on the cloud is not where I'm going. I'm think what this other person is thinking at a link to follow.
