Two iMac's, still doing well after 4 years and an AppleTV (original) functioning perfectly after 3 years.
All were eligible for AppleCare but none of them needed it.

As Jimmy pointed out, any manufacturer that offers the full original warranty plus any other extended warranty, must have higher standards than most.
