Tried your solution and it worked like a charm. Unfortunately, I only saw it after I paid a tech to fix the problem (which he obviously did not). When you think about it, the answer is so simple and logical (the dust was "tricking" the unit into thinking that headphones were connected). In any event, thank you for taking the time to post this. Tech had me halfway convinced that the unit was broken and that replacement was my best option. Figure you saved me around $400-$500.
