Reformat for Win 7?

I'm still confused. "As already said you need to reformat so that you only have windows 7" What does this mean? Do you mean reformat the drive and INSTALL Windows 7? If so, why would I need to "make sure you have a large drive for the two OS?" If the object is to completely rid the computer of Win 8, wouldn't the answer just be, "Reformat hard drive and install Win7?" However, the caveat in this scenario is that a Win7 upgrade disk would not install without finding a previous version of Windows already there. Solution: Reformat drive and install an OEM version of Win XP (Do not activate! It is only the "primer" for Win7 to find.) A Google search of Win XP OEM turns up various prices.
