Just as bad

I never use the smartphone while driving, but just as bad, I think, is that all of the car controls are on a similar kind of screen. In my newer car, I can't turn on the radio/change a channel/change to AM or FM or turn on the heat or A/C without taking my eyes off the road for (to me) a dangerously long period of time. In my old Chevy, I had buttons I could operate by touch--where they were located and how they felt. Now, I have to tolerate below zero degree air blasting at my face and legs in January until it's safe to look at the screen long enough to find the icon to turn on the heat so I don't freeze solid--or risk an accident.
