I don't have an S110, but according to specs, the normal continuous shooting mode only offers up to 2.1 frames per second, and that's best case. It can be slower depending on the mode, auto focus and shutter speed. The speed will slow down as the buffer fills up too, and once the buffer is full, it will stop and you cannot take more photos until the buffer clears. There is also a high speed burst mode which captures up to 10 frames per second (and 10 frmes is probably the limit...i.e. you can't keep holding down the button and get 20 frames in two seconds).
