The suggestion is that you take both drives out
of their enclosures and put the old drive into the new enclosure.

Fire it up and see if the computer recognizes it. If it does, you have all your data back.

You didn't mention your computer type, but, if you have room for a second drive, remove the defective one from its enclosure and install it in your computer.
