But unless there is some firmware for the TV and other laptops work and your laptop works on other TVs then you have the proverbial rock and hard place problem. You might be right that HP or LG have an issue but the time involved and the finger pointing is a lesson about how terrible support can be these years.

While there may be settings on the HP to try, I don't have your tv and I only have a dv6 1256 or such and not your exact model HP to try.
