No, don't jump!

I read your question, and related back to when I used to use a laptop with a trackpad. If your laptop has a trackpad, that could be the culprit. Your palms could be bumping the trackpad, causing your cursor to 'jump'.

On my laptop, I could toggle the trackpad off. If you can do this, you might want to try it to see if it affects your cursor.

Otherwise, your cursor could have some Mexican jumping bean DNA in it. Better keep it out of the sunlight.
