Optical block

Just got the green/yellow/red haze over my KDS-55A2000 model sony. Started 1 week ago. Called Sony and they noted it is an optical block problem. Sending a repair person on 10/12 and strongly told me that there is no cost to me for repair or service fees. Coverage is extended until June 2010 for optical blocks. Also they have a claim form if you had any out of pocket expenses for this problem. It is on Sony's website.
Do they use a NEW optical block or a refurbished one? Do they guarantee the replaced block for a certain time period?
