Though a priori research on the Internet I've concluded that energy efficient e-series Phenom chips will work in the Aspire 5515.

Phenom X4 9100e 1.8 GHz 4x 1.6 GHz 9x 1.10-1.15 65W AM2+
On socket AM2 platforms in the minimum performance state the processor runs at 900 MHz/1.1-1.15V core and TDP 46.3 Watt

Phenom X4 9150e 1.8 GHz 4x 1.6 GHz 9x 1.075-1.125 65W AM2+
On socket AM2 platforms in the minimum performance state the processor runs at 900 MHz/1.075-1.125V core and TDP 47.2 Watt

Phenom X4 9350e 2.0 GHz 4x 1.8 GHz 10x 1.075-1.125 65W AM2+
On socket AM2 platforms in the minimum performance state the processor runs at 1000 MHz/1.075-1.125V core and TDP 45.5 Watt

Phenom X4 9450e 2.1 GHz 4x 1.8 GHz 10.5x 1.075-1.125 65W AM2+
On socket AM2 platforms in the minimum performance state the processor runs at 1050 MHz/1.075-1.125V core and TDP 44.7 Watt

The caveat is you may wind up with a quad core notebook where all four CPUs run at a throttled max of 900mhz in power saving or balanced power mode. If you set set power management to High Performance you could have a real toasty pop tart. Who wants to try it?
