Try the generic reset noted at the top of the forum. You did the rest of the steps, just missed holding down the power button for 60 seconds with battery out and no AC.

Also, my (failed) HP did that brand new when my smart phone was plugged in. Unplug all USB things. Also any SD memory cards, etc.
