If Windows 7's Compatibility Mode wizard doesn't help then you will need to go back to whoever told you that this software works on Win 7 and ask them for more details.
I see there is a web site for bod.de at http://www.bod.de/index.html and perhaps their help and support or their forums can help.
The only other alternative I can think of for this software, and it would only work if your Windows 7 is the Professional or Ultimate version, is to download and install Microsoft's free Virtual PC and free XP Mode, which installs XP 'within' Windows 7 as a virtual OS. Then install the software into that.
There are other virtual printers available, listed here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_virtual_printer_software ad I have seen CutePDF mentioned often in these forums.
