Yes, I made a set of Vista Recovery DVD's and the Bootable Hardware Diagnostics CD the first week.

I have an external ESata dock that serves to clone the existing hard drive. I rotate several 1T drives, so I will hopefully never have to re-install anything.
The original 250GB hard drive from HP has been re-formatted and placed in a Dell.
Strange thing, the Dell 518 accepted the HP drive, and booted to Vista. Although not activated.
(The Dell had no HD, so I got the Dell Vista Ultimate DVD for only $19, and installed it).
