I hear you about the disclosure and it's a fine case for the maker never to use an OS they can't fix. The app is not theirs either.

I'll be back in a few hours but there are other issues with the Android OS such as that old bug with SMS which is a hoot.

These bugs are built into the Android OS so it would not have mattered which one you got. But read this one.
