My RME Fireface 800 $1,500 (US) professional interface DOES use Firewire and I cannot just change it to be USB 3.0.

And my OLD video camera certainly does use Firewire as well, not that I need it except to
transfer tapes.

I am finding that the web sites that sell laptops do NOT give complete specifications. This includes
how many USB ports and whether they are 2.0 or 3.0... Very very few anyway give this informaiton.
Sometimes you can't even find out of that 320 GB hard drive is 5400 or 7200 RPM.

On the Dell site, you can't even get the installation disks including driver DVDs.
Not an option when selecting features.

Technology sales assumes the buyer is stupid, which they may very well be on average these days.

I'm pretty disgusted with the laptop sales methods these days.
