Samsung wireless adapter

My husband and I bought a Samsung LED TV. We are aging and things are getting more complicated for us these days though I plug away. However we were also told by the sales person (manager) that all we had to do was buy a router and hook it up to my computer. All we want to be able to do is use Netflix.
So now it seems that we have to purchase the adapter AND we were sold the router at the same place and I am not so sure it is the best model/brand to have. Plus there is talk of the ISP addresses changing soon and the router we bought likely will have to be replaced.
So it leaves people like us in predicaments.
I plan to wade through this information and hope to be able to figure it out myself. I do believe we will have to take the router back though and don't feel too bad about it since we were led to believe it was all we need.
