Generally speaking

Generally speaking, no software is going to speed up a computer. There are certain hard limits on performance in the way of the hardware. So any software that claims to do all these magical things like speed up your computer, or fix virtually any problem sight unseen, is looking to prove PT Barnum right when he said there was a sucker born every minute.
There are some exceptions, but they tend to be very situation specific. The bigger the claims being made by the company peddling a bit of software, the less likely any of them are to be true.
