Problem running DBAN

Hi Mr Wilkinson
I downloaded DBAN from the official site, burned a bootable CD, changed boot priority in the PC so CD is first to boot and to my dismay it didn't work. I need to send you a picture from my PC screen I took with my camera because screenshot / print screen was not working...
I don't plan to make fun with the picture I took, but this was the actual result of running DBAN on my HP Pavillion Notebook (I am trying to get rid of Vista and return to XP Pro)
Screen is full of blinking characters with changing colors, like a diagnostic video test on some older PC's
Any hint will be greatly appreciated.
