That's because you agree with me ![]()
That aside, I'm not saying this Ugly Betty discussion doesn't matter, I'm SAYING that it doesn't matter whether or not Ugly Betty came first, second or 100th or if it's a direct ripoff (a negative word) or an homage (a positive word).
What matters is that it's good and many people love to watch it. More examples... Is every crime drama not worth watching because Dragnet did it first? Is every medical drama like House and ER and Grey's Anatomy worthless because Emergency did it first?
At the very least, Ugly Betty is an original show for American TV. The same can't be said for the crime clones like Law and Order, CSI (pick a city), Numb3rs, etc. and the half dozen medical dramas on TV.
