This problem with winsock happened to me, too, using Spyware Nuker 2004. Fortunately it saves in a log file all suspicious things it found on Registry (with all keys, value types and values). So I was able to quickly manually recreate the registry items destroyed...

Actually, you should always make a Registry backup before letting this software act. I think this could be done automatically by this kind of software, maybe some of that does... but I don't know which ones...

Keep using them, but be more cautious [as I'll be next time with Registry things... wink ]
