Regarding Firewalls

Just to add to Dana's information on Router/Firewalls.
If you have an old computer that can have 2 network cards put in it, you can build your own router very cheaply using a Linux based Firewall like Smoothwall or IPCop.

My firewall is Smoothwall running on an old P133 with 32mb RAM and an 840mb HDD. If you have never tried this before there are loads of places to get information from, just do a search on either product. Both are configured using a web interface and are very easy to run.
